Step-by-Step Installation Guide

Step 1: Plan and Measure

Before starting the installation, plan the layout of your washing machine box and pipes. Determine the location of the washing machine box, ensuring it is easily accessible and within the manufacturer's recommended distance from the washing machine. Use a stud finder to locate studs in the wall, and mark their locations. Measure and cut the PEX and copper pipes to the appropriate lengths.

Step 2: Install the Copper-to-PEX Transition Fittings

Turn off the water supply to the area where you are working. Drain any remaining water from the copper pipes. Cut the copper pipes to the appropriate length using a copper pipe cutter or hacksaw. Clean and deburr the cut ends. Connect the PEX-to-copper transition fittings to the copper pipes using a pipe wrench and Teflon tape.

Step 3: Prepare the Washing Machine Box

Assemble the washing machine box according to the manufacturer's instructions. Apply plumber's putty or silicone caulk to the back of the box to create a watertight seal. If necessary, cut an opening in the drywall using a drywall saw.

Step 4: Attach the PEX Pipes

Cut the PEX pipes to the appropriate length using a PEX pipe cutter. Slide a PEX crimp ring onto the end of each PEX pipe. Insert the PEX pipes into the PEX-to-copper transition fittings, ensuring they are fully seated. Position the crimp rings about 1/8 to 1/4 inch from the end of the PEX pipes and use the PEX crimp tool to secure the connections.

Step 5: Install the Washing Machine Box

Insert the washing machine box into the wall opening, ensuring it is level and centered over the studs. Use a drill to secure the box to the studs with the provided screws. Attach the PEX pipes to the washing machine box, using the same crimping method as before.

Step 6: Connect the Washing Machine Hoses

Connect the washing machine hoses to the hot and cold water supply lines in the washing machine box. Use Teflon tape to ensure a watertight seal. Attach the drain hose
